Experiencing a landscape shaped by people

Koraput is one of Odisha’s most distinctive cultural and geographical regions.
Its hills, valleys, forests, agricultural landscapes and indigenous communities have created a destination with a character unlike anywhere else in the state. Yet the scale and diversity of the region can make it difficult for visitors to move beyond its most familiar attractions.

Odisha Walks Koraput was developed to create experiences that bring visitors closer to the region.
The approach focuses on the relationship between landscape and people. Trails and experiences explore the everyday life of Koraput, its food, agriculture, markets, villages and cultural traditions.
Rather than presenting Koraput as a series of individual attractions, the project looks at the region as a connected cultural landscape.
